August May was founded by Joanna Leskow, whose life has been profoundly shaped and inspired by personal experiences with disability. These experiences gave her an early awareness of the barriers so many face, not only in one’s daily life but especially when it was time to travel.
With decades of experience in the luxury sector and nearly a decade dedicated to luxury travel, Joanna encountered a striking disconnect in inclusivity while planning trips for clients with long term or short term mobility concerns, hearing impairments, and more. She was inspired and motivated by those facing health challenges yet maintained their unwavering desire to explore the world.
Driven by the need to address the obstacles that her client, her family and her friends encountered in the pursuit of meaningful travel experiences, Joanna sought conversations with other clients, experts and advocates to confirm the depth of this need in the industry. It was time to act.
Supported by a network of dedicated professionals and advisors, Joanna launched August May Group - a mission to redefine luxury travel as inclusive and accessible for all.
